CMT 2017 Formula One Season released for F1 Challenge '99-'02
*************************************************************

IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT AN EA SPORTS PRODUCT.
IT IS NEITHER SUPPORTED NOR INITIATED BY ELECTRONIC ARTS OR IMAGE SPACE INCORPORATED.
EVERY MOD DEVELOPED, POWERED AND/OR RELEASED BY CONSTRICTOR MODDING TEAM FOR F1 CHALLENGE '99-'02 IS FREE.

None of us make any money from developing and releasing this project. We do not accept to
receive charity or donations. If you really want to help us, please be part of this
project as a modder.

Constrictor Modding Team has not got an official trademark, and is not associated in any
way with the Formula 1 companies. F1, FORMULA ONE, FORMULA 1, FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD
CHAMPIONSHIP, GRAND PRIX and related marks are trade marks of Formula One Licensing B.V.

Constrictor Modding Team is an Spanish-speaking group of modders formed by professional
engineers, Formula One fans and sim-racing enthusiasts (sometimes all together!). The team
was founded in Venezuela in 2017, orgininally by three members: Francisco Torrealba,
Carlos Campos Castillo (me) and José Daniél Arévalo Hernández, all from Venezuela.
Then Cristian Antonio Luis Campoy, Fabián Vásquez Quintero, Sergio Nicolás Masía, Rafael
Alonso Campos, Daniel Alfonso Siso and Francisco Yebra Ferro joined us during 2018, and
thanks to all their collective dedicated effort we grow massively until having almost about
100 modders at our peak between members, collaborators and volunteers for CMT 2020. Our
main members are from Venezuela, Spain, Colombia and Argentina.

Our aim is to produce all the Formula One seasons as close to reality as we can within our
and F-1 Challenge '99-'02s possibilities with guaranteed uniform quality assurance, adapting
every single area of game design to F1C's standards. All cars have new physics and sounds,
along with extensive textures, 3D modifications and design personality on backgrounds, menus,
icons and displays. Depending of the season, we have also included some unraced F-1 cars. Our
way of developing mods can be considered professional, since our works allowed one of our
main members to work for Gameloft (under permanent/indefinite job contract conditions) without
having professional experience, university degree or programming background. Most of our team
is made of engineers, and the man who supervises the Physics has a Ph.D. in that area of study.
Of course, this does not spare us from making very serious (physics) design flaws when we fail!
In light of the physics developments, older setups will no longer work as expected. Physics,
user experience, gameplay and faithfully season representation are our strongest points.
Historical researches to update the models are at our project’s foundation.

This Formula One mod for F1 Challenge '99-'02 is also intended to run separately from
F1 Challenge '99-'02 game title (so, as stand-alone), featuring the classic Godzilla menus
implemented for the first time in Ralph Hummerich's 2005 season mod, and even a dedicated
soundtrack. The mod is literally like a separate, new game title. Because of all the
improvements the executable file has received over the years and the abandonware status
this game is catalogued nowadays, this mods doesn't need to be installed on a clean F-1
Challenge '99-'02 game install. With this package of contents you are able to play
F1C with the Formula One season you have selected and decided to have fun. In short, you
can play this game (recreating this Formula One season for F1C) straight out of the box!

To prevent us and you from any mismatch problems related to the downloaded version, this
package must be only downloaded on our present webpage.

This software is provided AS IS. No support is being provided or implied.
The user accepts full responsibility.

WHY F1 CHALLENGE '99-'02?
*************************

First, the platform used, which is F1 Challenge '99-'02. This classic from Image Space
Incorporated and EA Sports features four full Formula One seasons in its original
incarnation, and due that everything can be done from very common file formats in an
extremely quick fashion (to the point that is its only saving grace) is perfect to use
as a development platform for our needs. This is the best basis possible.

Second reason: originally our team had extremely limited PC equipment in terms of
storage, which is the reason of develop F-1 seasons on our own instead of join F1 Challenge
VB (which has all seasons in one pack). Many Formula One modifications have been done
for this title, which along with permissions given by many, it all comes to make the
project of recreating all Formula One Seasons easier and more viable to become a reality.
Most mods (and even official titles) nowadays features a bunch of cars and tracks of
different categories mixed between them; which often ends in having races where all
F-1 teams use the exact same car, but with different liveries. From our viewpoint,
this doesn't constitute a solid basis to develop with, and we haven't meet yet a
simulator where mods are developed as quickly and efficient as this one. From
our experience we can guarantee that F1C is a robust jack-of-all-trades.

Third, we are looking for a game where we can race any F-1 car we want, have available
all F-1 seasons with all cars and its race by race variants; as well as all the tracks
with correct layouts and sponsors that provide good ambiance; being able to realistic
lap times using the physics developed by engineers; simple, straightforward and
extremely quick modding with common formats, racing cleanliness (to a degree); AI
to race with and which we can improve; no bugs related to gameplay; all-in-one-pack
without mod or 3rd party software installment and share a passion for classic F-1
with 3D modelers, sim-racing enthusiasts, Formula One fans and engineers fond of the
F-1 sport. All for free in an abandonware software that doesn't give legal issues,
and where everyone can enjoy a healthy community and join the game regardless of how
limited the PC equipment is and how poor is the internet connection as long as there is.

And fourth, some of our members are playing this racing simulator for more than a
decade, which made them to strenght a bond with this game title. Other members have been
here even when the game was released in June 2003 and haven't looked for more modern
racing simulators since. Even some of them are proud of themselves for that decision,
arguing about being satisfied. All their expertise in modding, passion for Formula One
and particular interests are in correlation with ours and we are here altogether creating
and developing all Formula One seasons. With those interests and our own passions and
knowledge, the decision of using F1 Challenge '99-'02 comes crystal clear.

IMPORTANT READ TO F1C MODDERS AND 2017 F1C MOD MAKERS
*****************************************************

-It is not allowed to use this package of contents as a source (modified or not)
for use in your modding project without our explicit permission. This includes
the use of any of these files (specially AIWs, physics, MAS, MTS, GDB, RCD, etc.)
in any carset without permission. Do not pretend you have created the stuff you
have stolen from here. Please, ask for permission to Constrictor Modding Team or
any of its members; it will not kill you. You are playing the F1C mod you want
to, not because of leechers. But because of talented modders who dedicated a big
amount of time and passion for creating the vehicle or track they wanted to see
in action (or in its former glory) and decided one day to share it with everyone.

-There it goes again our recommendation: if you want to use any material from
this to create your mod, ASK FOR PERMISSION. Especially if you're going to take
vehicle models, physics, tracks, or AIWs.

-Asking for permission about the usage of this mod to make your contents does
not imply that you have permission to use the rest of the materials published
by Constrictor Modding Team.

─As an F1C 2017 player, feel free to use this mod for any F1 Challenge '99-'02
league or gameplay upload to any video content platform.

─Commercial use of this product is not allowed. This includes racing leagues
who demands an amount of money from the participants of the league or a place
where certain hardware is installed.

F1 Challenge 2017 Formula One Season by Constrictor Modding Team
****************************************************************

The 2017 FIA Formula One World Championship was the 71st season
of Formula One motor racing. It featured the 68th Formula One World
Championship, a motor racing championship for Formula One cars
which is recognised by the sport's governing body, the Fédération
Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), as the highest class of
competition for open-wheel racing cars. Teams and drivers competed
in twenty Grands Prix—starting in Australia on 26 March and ending
in Abu Dhabi on 26 November—for the World Drivers' and World
Constructors' championships.

As the reigning Drivers' Champion Nico Rosberg announced his retirement
from the sport in December 2016, the 2017 season was the first since
1994 in which the reigning champion did not compete. Mercedes started
the season as the defending Constructors' Champion, having secured
their third consecutive title at the 2016 Japanese Grand Prix.

At the conclusion of the championship, Lewis Hamilton won his fourth World
Drivers' Championship title. Hamilton finished with 363 points, 46
points ahead of Sebastian Vettel in second with 317 points and Valtteri
Bottas in third with 305 points. In the World Constructors' Championship,
Mercedes won their fourth consecutive title at the 2017 United States
Grand Prix and finished with 668 points. Ferrari finished second with
522 points and Red Bull Racing were third with 368 points.

INSTALLATION:
*************

Just extract the mod from WinRar to your desktop, AND ONLY TO YOUR DESKTOP.

Uninstall any previous version of CMT 2017 mod in the exclusive case of
having it. After that, have a look at the readme file and follow its
instructions carefully to get a successful execution of the game.

Do not install this package of contents in any F1 Challenge '99-'02 folder.

UPDATE NOTES:
*************

This update will cause online mismatches with older versions, and it is not compatible
with seasons started with previous versions, so if this is your case, finish the season
before applying the update. In light of the physics developments, old setups will no
longer work.
